The London Institute of Banking & Finance is an educational body for the financial sector in the UK.

  Comprehensive definition of the term The London Institute of Banking & Finance

The institution was founded in 1879 as the Institute of Bankers. It gained its Royal Charter in 1987 and in 1996 developed the first professional award linked to a university degree.
In 1997 the name was changed to the Institute of Financial Services (IFS), reflecting a broadening of its services. In 2013, it was granted University College title and became IFS University College.
In September 2016, after a comprehensive strategic review, a new brand and identity were launched and the name changed to The London Institute of Banking & Finance.
